National Firearm Safety Initiative (NFSI)
The National Firearm Safety Initiative (NFSI) is a Canadian-founded non-profit organization dedicated to protecting families and communities through tangible, technology-driven firearm safety solutions.
While traditional advocacy has focused on awareness campaigns, lobbying, and education, the NFSI was created with a different mission: to move beyond talk and deliver real tools that prevent unauthorized firearm access, theft, and misuse.
Our Purpose
To fund, develop, and promote smart firearm safety technology such as the Arms Recovery Unit Device (ARUD)
To reduce child injuries and deaths caused by unsecured or stolen firearms.
To support law enforcement and responsible gun owners with devices that track, recover, and disable stolen weapons.
To foster a culture of innovation and accountability in firearm safety — proving that technology can do what politics alone cannot.
Our Approach
Innovation First: Invest in engineering and prototype development of ARUD and related safety systems.
Community Protection: Deploy solutions where they’re needed most — homes, schools, and communities vulnerable to firearm theft or unauthorized access.
Partnerships: Work with law enforcement, safety advocates, and responsible firearm owners to maximize adoption and impact.
Transparency: Every dollar raised goes directly toward research, development, and deployment of life-saving tech.
Our Vision
A safer future where unauthorized access to firearms is no longer a leading cause of child deaths, where stolen guns cannot be used in violent crimes, and where technology bridges the gap between awareness and real prevention.
